Immunization Coverage Brief

breaks after dose one.

Most children start the schedule. Fewer finish it. This brief tracks the cohort from first contact to full coverage — and what closes the gap in between.

Why the Gap Opens

It isn't a first-contact problem.

Caregivers show up for BCG, OPV0, and the first penta dose. Contact rates at the door are high across almost every catchment we monitor.

The drop happens later — at the second and third dose, weeks after the first visit, when the reminder didn't land, the distance felt longer, or a stockout was assumed rather than confirmed.

Closing the completion gap means tracking the return visit, not just the first one.

Scolah Compass — ImmunizationInteroperability
System — Data In, Data Out

Speaks the standards your ministry already runs.

Compass doesn't ask a health programme to replace its registry or its EMR. It reads and writes against the standards already in place, so a dose recorded in the field lands in the systems your ministry and donors already report against — no parallel database, no re-keying.

Health · standard

FHIR

Patient and immunization-event resources sync via standard FHIR calls — no bespoke connector per facility.

Health · standard

DHIS2

Dose events push into existing DHIS2 tracker programmes; catchment and facility hierarchies pull in the same direction.

Health · EMR

OpenMRS

Reads patient records already held at facilities running OpenMRS — a child isn't re-registered because Compass showed up.

Social protection · standard

DCI

Shares one beneficiary identity across the wider social-protection stack, for programmes that pair immunization with cash or nutrition support.

Also live: Hotline, the Compass AI channel caregivers reach directly — a WhatsApp/SMS chat where a mother can ask when the next dose is due, or why a visit was flagged, without waiting for a CHW callback.
